The capsules combine milk thistle, nopal, also called prickly pear cactus, ginger, ginseng, and eleuthero, among other ingredients. The manufacturer links milk thistle with liver function, ginger with digestion, and nopal with a diet aimed at managing body weight. Silymarin is a group of natural compounds in milk thistle. Two capsules provide a declared sixty milligrams. This guaranteed amount is called extract standardisation: we know how much silymarin a serving contains, not just the weight of the extract. L-methionine is needed to make proteins and can be converted into L-cysteine. Cysteine, in turn, helps the body make glutathione, which cells use to protect themselves from damage. Borage oil provides GLA, a type of fat used, among other things, to build cell membranes, the thin coverings around cells.
