Shake One Pure is a plant-based protein and carbohydrate shake with a white chocolate and raspberry flavour. CaliVita® recommends it to active people, including after training, and to those working on their fitness goals who want a convenient way to add protein to their diet. A thirty-gram serving contains twenty-one grams of a blend of pea and rice protein isolates. An isolate is an ingredient from which much of the plant's other material has been removed to make a more concentrated protein. The carbohydrates, which supply energy, come partly from palatinose and maltodextrin. According to CaliVita®, palatinose breaks down more slowly than ordinary sugar, so its energy is intended to be released more gradually. The formula also includes chicory inulin, a type of plant fibre, vitamins, minerals, and acai fruit extract. Papain and bromelain are enzymes that break proteins into smaller pieces. Protein helps maintain muscle mass and supplies amino acids the body uses to build and renew muscle tissue. Mix one serving of powder for thirty seconds with three hundred millilitres of water or a plant-based drink. The manufacturer also suggests adding a few ice cubes.
